The characters in this design symbolise the era known as The Gilded Age- a historical era of the 1870s to about 1900 in America. Caused by the explosive growth of factories, steel mills and railroads driven by the Second Industrial Revolution made a small, elite class of businessmen incredibly rich.
The great businessmen and their families that have come to symbolize the era were the Vanderbilts; the Astors; and the Rockefellers, to name a few.
