The words of the greatWilliam Wordsworthon Helvellyn mountain range, located in the Lake District. Helvellyn, the tallest point of the range and third highest in England, has been a popular spot for walkers, Wordsworth himself included, since the early 18thcentury, if not before. And it is easy to see why. It’s not just the picture-perfect views from the top on a clear summer’s day, or glacial coves that occupy the middle point of the mountain that make Helvellyn so appealing to ascend and explore. As Wordsworth said, it is the power of these hills and the record of commotion and force that caused such epic geological structures to come into existence. To walk such a landscape is to experience the force and power of history.
This design gives you a little taste of that experience. Pastel green fields that sit below the steady rising volcanic structure. The view presented is from the picturesque village of Penruddock at the base of the range. An ideal refuelling spot after a day of walking, climbing and scrambling to the top of Helvellyn. If it’s good enough for Wordsworth, it’s good enough for a tea towel.
Half Panama unbleached cotton (heavy weight, textured finish). Stitched on all four sides. Includes hanging loop. Measures approximately 19in x 28in (48cm x 70cm),. Machine wash at 40 degrees max. We recommend that before you use your tea towel for the first time you wash it at least once to soften up the material and make it more absorbent for drying dishes.
